The Dumpster Guy

Privacy Policy

Last updated September 25, 2026

This site is operated by Tariq Zuhair, doing business as The Dumpster Guy, in Austin, Texas. This page explains what is collected when you use it, why, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, call (512) 971-2111 and ask.

What is collected

  • What you type into a form. Your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code and anything you write in a message, when you send a quote request or sign up for email. The page you first arrived on, and the website or email link that brought you here, are saved with it.
  • What you leave on a sales rep's card. If you fill in the form on a rep's digital card (for example dumpsterguy.pro/jill): your name, email address or phone number, company or property, role, number of units, what you need, where you met and your note, with the page and link that brought you there. It goes to that rep by email and into Pipedrive (below) so they can follow up with you. It does not sign you up for marketing email.
  • When a sales rep visits your property. For property managers and staff our rep meets in person: your name, title, work phone and work email, a photo of a business card you hand over, and notes on what was discussed and when to follow up. It is kept in our own database so the rep can pick up where you left off. It does not sign you up for marketing email.
  • What you ask the assistant. Questions and answers are stored so the answers can be improved. Do not put payment details or anything sensitive into it.
  • Basic technical information. Your browser type and a one-way hash of your IP address, used to limit abuse. The raw IP address is not stored.
  • How you use this site. Which pages you view and which buttons you press (for example calling, opening the assistant or starting a quote), the website that sent you here, and any campaign tags in the link you followed. A visit is grouped under a random number kept in your browser's session storage, which is discarded when you close the tab, and is recorded with a one-way hash of your IP address. It is not stored with your name or email address. No cookies are used for this, and you are not tracked across other websites.
  • What happens to email we send you. For email sent from dumpsterguy.pro, our email provider reports whether each message was sent, delivered, delayed, bounced, failed or marked as spam, whether it was opened, and which links in it were clicked. Each of these is recorded against your email address, with the time, the subject of the email and, for a click, the link, the type of browser or device, and a one-way hash of the IP address the click came from. Opens are approximate: some email apps load every message's images automatically, which counts as an open whether or not you read it.

How it is used

  • To answer your question, quote your job, and deliver a dumpster.
  • To send marketing email to people who signed up on this site, and to people who have been in touch with the business or whose details were passed to it, for example through a local business event or list. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To understand which parts of this site are useful and which are not.
  • To see which emails reach people and get a response, so The Dumpster Guy can follow up with people who clicked a link in one.
  • To see which emails, links and pages lead to quote requests.

What is never done

  • Your information is not sold, rented, or traded. Not ever.
  • Your information is not shared for anyone else's advertising.
  • You are not signed up for marketing email because you requested a quote.
  • You are not signed up for marketing email because you left your details on a sales rep's card.

Who else sees it

Service providers that make the site work: Vercel for hosting, Supabase for the database, Resend to send email and report whether it was delivered, opened or clicked, Anthropic for the assistant, and Pipedrive, the sales system the team uses to track customers and jobs. The site keeps a copy of the customer and job details held in Pipedrive, and adds one note to each contact there saying whether they have agreed to marketing email. Details you leave on a sales rep's card are added to Pipedrive as a contact, with a note and a follow-up task for that rep. Each is contractually restricted to processing the data on our behalf. Booking is fulfilled by 1-800-JUNKPRO Austin, so a job you book is shared with that operation. Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it.

Email

Every marketing email carries a one-click unsubscribe and a physical postal address, as required by CAN-SPAM. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately. You can also reply to any message and ask to be removed.

Your choices

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing tariq@junk.pro or calling (512) 971-2111. Requests are handled within 30 days. A deletion request also covers the email activity recorded against your address and any website activity that can be matched to you.

Retention

Quote requests, and details left on a sales rep's card, are kept as long as they are commercially useful. Email subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe. Assistant transcripts are kept for one year. Records of what happened to email we sent (deliveries, opens, clicks and bounces) are kept for 25 months, and records of how the site was used are kept for 12 months. Both are deleted automatically after that.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and information is not knowingly collected from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
